ok so here's another update...

Ws at the boat show today....new pix albums for you to look thru

On the music front.....

Retro-Electro III is now at number 7 on the Beat the Mix charts...ok so didnt quite make number 5 but that still 2 weeks now in the top 10!!....and we are really confident that next Thursday (when the chart is recalclated) we will make it up to at least number 5 - you can vote for us by txtin Mix 337 to 83070

Retro-Electro II is also at number 14!!! you can vote for this one by texting Mix 333 to 83070 while Retro-Electro VIII is at number 11...vote for this one by texting Mix 336 to 83070

help us make it to the big time...dont forget the album cover competition and sample competition - you could join in he glory!!!

Hoping to do a deal...and other stuff

Ok to catch up in general....HELLO EVERYONE...sorry its been a while since I had a general rant n rave...so here goes....Millbrook Community School and Oaklands Community School will close in September 2008 and Oasis Academy Lord's Hill will open....I should know by next Easter if I have a job and what it is!!!

Next door is getting there ..currently have two rooms for rent one single room @ £65 pw and one double room @ £75 per week - close to Shirley High Street, Southampton - phone 07855 145510 if interested....

Finally the main thing I been concentrating on lately - the band is looking well OK - We are working on our second album and Im just looking over an agreement for one of iTunes major suppliers of music...all being well you could get you hands on Retro-Electro in a couple of weeks time

So its all busy busy...hope everyone is well out there in blog-land

Just to let you know if anyone is interested I have room to rent in the house next to me (yes I own two houses) close to Shirley High Street in Southampton.
It is a furnished double room in a shared house available now for £75 per week, all utility bills included.
Shared bathroom with shower, shared kitchen with washing machine, cooker and microwave. Very close to chinese take-away and a pub at other end of the road. Loads of other take-aways and resturants about 10mins walk.
You need to put down a deposit of £100 + 1 months rent.

Well earlier this week I went to a meeting at the council chamber and it was decided that Oasis are goning to run the two new schools on the east and west of Southampton. This will mean Millbrook Community School and Oaklands Community School on the west, and Grove Park Business & Enterprise College and Woolston Language College on the east will close. The new schools will be opened on the site of Oaklands and Grove Park.

Ok the Kawai K1m is now here and its kewl...its got some sounds that Ive not heard anywhere else...the joystick is pretty good as well because you can move the sound around the soundscape.

Yello....Another update....

The Proteus 2XL has now arrived and so has my new 6u rack. The proteus is really good for orchestral sounds, but now Im gonna need a bigger MIDI router / a second one.

Ill posted an updated picture soon.

Hi,

So its Bank Holiday Monday and i just thought I would do another blog update...

Going: I have now sold my CZ-1000 and S2000

Coming: A Korg M3R, a Proteus 2 XL and a Kawai K1M

That just about does all the sound modules Im looking for right now unless I can get something like a Vintage Keys or an MKS-70 (possibly MSK-30)

After that I will need another rack...have almost filed an 8U one already. I may also look for a better EQ (have 15 band at the moment - would look for a 31 band) and maybe other processors like limiter / suppressor / FXs

Anyway lots else to do so l8rz

The Rack Stack

Ok peeps things is starting to come together in the new rack, it now holds the Akai ME-30P patchbay, the EQ, the Zoom FXs unit, Akai S3000XL sampler, SCSI CD-Rom, SCSI Zip dive and Yamaha MU10. To the left of the rack is the Boss DR-660 drum machine, this will be replaced by the Roland R-8M when it arrives, which will also go into the rack.

News update...

Ok so there's been a lot going on since I last put an entry on here...so let's bring you up to date.

1) I now have replaced my CZ-1000 keyboard with a CTK-571. The main reason is the CZ is limited for controlling my Akai sampler and the CTK can control more sounds and its in-built sounds are better.

2) The Akai S2000 is the next to be going, this is going to be replaced by an S3000XL.

3) I have joined UNISON and have become a steward at the school I work at.
4) Have been working on the new house, getting another room ready for letting.

5) I am now a member of the Royal Institue and an associate member of the Institute of Incorporated Engineers

My big day out.....yaaaah!

So today I had a day out from work to go and have a look at the ICT Roadshow.

This was at the Holiday Inn in Farnbourgh (N.Hampshire)

It was ok but most of what was on offer was aimed at primary school, although there was some secondary and there was an interesting stand hosted by BITS which offered security cards that are fitted inside PCs.

On the way back we stopped at the Winchester services on the M3 for a bite to eat...and it was very nice

All in all...not a bad day out

Well today wasnt so bad at work...started the mammoth task of going around all teacher's laptops making sure they are up-to-date for anti-virus and windows updates...only about another 35 to go :>

Went to the BCS (British Computer Society) meeting for the Hampshire Branch tonight with Jayne. The talk was about IT Law...I found it quite interesting...not so sure about Jayne.

For those who dont know the BCS is the professional body for IT professional in this country and is the equivilant of say the BMA (for medical professional), ICE (civil engineers) or IEE (electrical engineers). The society has over 50,000 members and branches all around the country. There are also many specialist groups that members can join...here's the ones I belong to....

Wednesday - David is at college...guess I have to do some work that day

Thursday - at an ICT roadshow in Farnbourgh (all day)

Friday - usually not a bad day, finish 1/2 hour earlier, then to the local acoholic refreshment centre and roll on the weekend

Grrrr...monitors, monitors...where's the f***ing monitors

Ok so Im not actually ment to be in work today but decide to go and check the delivery that came after I have left yesterday...I get a report of four boxes...which could mean either 4 monitors or 4 boxes of monitors.....as it turns out its neither....

So all fired up I phone the computer company up...well in the end I get them delivered...so now hopefully all the parts are in place ready to set them up tomorrow....well that's the plan

Ok well where do I start....

The networking guy didnt finish yesterday and had to come back today..and still have to come back tomorrow

The computer did not come with an OS luckly an old contact came up trumps and we should get them tomorrow

The computer monitors didnt turn up...and they said there was no one there to recieve them..yeah right...grrrr...these are now coming tomorrow, so I now need to go in tomorrow for a while...

btw if your a bitter drinker like I am I recommend the Wessex Banger, a dark medium bitter

Any road up as like....today's Pipe of the Day was a Hardcastle Royal Windsor, this is one of my favourite pipe because of its texture and the shape of the steam.

Ok for anyone who maybe interested here's a bit more about me....

I work in a local community school as an ICT Systems Technican - yes I get paid for messing with computers!!! I like listening to 80's music - electro pop sorta stuff...I watch probably about 4 TV channels of the hundreds we have got...these include UKTV Gold, UKTV G2, UKTV Drama and UKTV Style

I also record music under the name Deja Vue and mix other music as DJ GK. Usually we all hang out on Undernet IRC channels #britzone #ukchat #southampton #dj-playlist and #brit_trivia....all are welcome to come and join in realtime chat
