Katherine's Favorites have now been released on iTunes, Napster and others

K.O. Kid should be singing in 2 weeks time

Crown Electric Company - still working through contracts...

we also now take submissions via Music Submit and Sonicbids and can also offer physical distribution to up to 7000 outlets in UK, US, Canada and Japan

Right...here's what's bin going down.....

Deja Vue now have the 14 track remix album released called REMIXED

Still working on new material to record as solo artist The "K"

Long Hall Productions Limited in now a registered company - consisting of Long Hall Productions, LHP Studios and LHP Records. Both Deja Vue and The "K" are signed to LHP Records. Earlier in 2008 LHP Records was then opened to other bands and artists. In June 2008 Katherine's Favorites, a pop / rock / acoustic / experimental band from Russia also signed with LHP Records. Other artists in the pipeline include The K.O. Kid and The Crown Electric Company. Further details at

Yo
We have already started on tracks for a new album...as yet it has no name...but its gonna need a cover....that's were you come in and can feature on it!!!!
All you need to do is have a pix of you taken holding a bit of paper (at least a4 size in landscape) saying "DEJA VUE" - this must be able to be read, you can add what ever else you like on the paper - as long as it's clean!!!
The location of the pix is up to you...at home, outside, on a train, at a club...

08/10/07 Although the album is not slated until the end of Oct, it then gives us chance to pick the best pix(s) and get our artist to finish the cover in time.

The Deja Vue story...expanded....

"It started in 1988 when I teamed up with the Mix Kid (we were also know as the Parana Brothers for a while - Doug & Dinsdale), we used to do mixing using nothing more sophisticated than a twin tape deck. We would play a snippet from one tape to the other and then another from a different bit of music. This would go on until the mix was completed, the process being known as 'bouncing'
Then in 1998 came Sounds From The South. This started as a solo project, after moving back home. Later a friend moved in and we were going to start up together but we ever actually recorded anything together...all that remains is an album that I recorded on my own and another tape of remixes that I did myself.
After this nothing musical happened in my life for a number of years until in 2006 by Deja Vue, my third project. This started off by me doing cover songs. In fact I produced six albums worth. As these were never released, they have all been deleted. I then went onto think about some of my other favourite influences like The Art of Noise, Kraftwerk and Jean Michel Jarre, and decided I wanted to move more into the field of playing electro music. The result of this was the album Retro-Electro. A combination of eight styles of electro music including dance, techno, DnB and disco. I finished the album in early August 2007. Around this time I had met up with my old friend The Mix Kid, and although we had remained friends throughout the years, had not colaborated since the early days. After playing a demo of the CD and talking for a while he agreed to join the band. The Mix Kid (DJ Ears, Steve) composes / produces and will be doingthe groove and drum box programming for the band.
I still do the remixing as DJ GK and I do my own production work under the name of LHP (Long Hall Productions).
Are next step is to get some more tracks ready for a second album and to get managed/promoted and signed to a label" -- Gaz (DJ GK)

Deja Vue is currently UNSIGNED and looking for a deal and promotion

Deja Vue news - 2 new tracks, 3rd on the way

Hi,

Just to let you know we have completed another two tracks, with a third hopefully being completed. These tracks are currently un-named but when the three are finished our favourite one will be uploadd onto here.

We are still unsigned and would like to hear from any DJ, radio station, or other outlet interested in playing our music or of course any record label, promoter, A&R people, music agent or others who can help us "get there"

Sneek Peek Video

I have uploaded a sneek peek video of DJ GK (Gaz) in the process of creating a new minimix of The Who. Quality is not brilliant as this was taking using a mobile phone cam but shows some of the processes that take place using Adobe Audition.

Ok Steve, The Mix Kid has now joined the band and was round today jamming on the groovebox. He is now gonna lay down some beats which then I am gonna mix and finish off. After that we will see what we have and go from there. In the meantime I am still busy pushing the Retro-Electro album, and a massive thanks to all those who have commeted so far . A lot of work has been done, but there is still a lot more to do - so anyone who can help get friends or friends of friends to listen, please do so, but also any promotion or record, radio or other outlets too. Retro-Electro Update 3a

Ok its the morning after the night before....

I met up with my old m8 The Mix Kid (now calling himself DJ Ears) and listened to some of my mixes (as DJ GK) and then he listen to my Retro-Electro work. He favoured tracks 1,2,3,8 but was not personally so keen on tracks 5,6,7. We dicussed the candidates for tracks 1 and 4. After both listening to track 1 we felt candidate 2 was the better, however for track 4 he could not make his mind up. Track 6 we agreed needs to be re-worked as the quaility is not so good, and hearing through another system I have to agree.

At this stage I should say that I had not commented to DJ Ears on any of the 'styles' of the track. He did however recognise track 2 as "trancy" and 8 as "drum and bass", this will also give you enthusiasts a flavour of what is to come

On playing track one DJ Ears tilts his head to one side and utters "that sounds familar" and anyone who is familar with the Priodiy song Breathe, may agree. Also fans of the Discovery channel's How It's Made may like track 3 a the type of mood music they use.

Anyway there is still plenty to do with the added re-working of track 6, so watch this space....

Where are we now ?

1) The cover will need to be finished off - This ha been done

2) Some release candidates of Retro-Electro IV have been produced

3) Promo/publicity work need to be started

4) Channels for album's release need to be looked at

Whats happening next ?

1) I am visiting my old m8 The Mix Kid tonight to talk about some of the candidates

2) Some further candidates maybe looked at and the album play list finallised. This will include Retro-Electo VI which I am still not happy with

Retro-Electro Update 2

Evening all....

This is te second update on the new album I am working on called Retro-Electro

Ok where are we ?

1) The album cover art work is now compiled and being put together

2) A second candidate of Retro-Eletro I has now been recorded. The winning candidate will make it onto the album and the other one will be canned

3) Some intros have been recorded and will be mixed into some of the tracks

4) Retro-Electro III is looking a strong contender for being the main track used for publicity / promo work followed by possibly Retro-Electro IV

New Deja Vue Album : Retro-Electro

Major new Deja Vue album news in the making. The album will be called Retro-Electro and will feature between five and eight tracks all of different types of retro electro styles. In a departure these tracks will not be named, but will be numbered I, II, III.....

The first track of the album was recorded today and the others be coming soon...

Watch this space.

The release will be handled as usual exclusively ia eSnips.

Ok so I now have the Novation A Station setup with the Behringer C1 mic as the input so I can start to vocode again. It's gonna take a bit of time to get use to because you have to set the level for each recording, also a bit annoying, but it doesn't have an on/off switch. The next thing will be to get the CR-80 and the RM1x sorted out.

Ok WMP has now gone in favour of ESnips!!! I have setup playlist widget. There are currently 28 tracks that I have created / mixed, and there will be more later.

Well most of the weekend I have being a plumbing...fitting new taps in the bathroom and kitchen and also a new plughole in the bathroom sink. It took a while, cost a mint - with fittings and tools - but it was an experience, and it does look a lot better for it
